PROSTHESES AND FORMATTERS
Ocular prosthesis
The prosthesis is custom-designed to match the patient's anatomy and natural expression. It is intended for people who have undergone enucleation.
The process includes:
Complete orbit assessment
Personalized footprint
Custom manufacturing
Adjustments and touch-ups if necessary

Scleral shell
The scleral shell is a thin prosthesis designed for patients who have undergone evisceration. The service includes:
Evaluation of the orbital cavity
Personalized footprint
Custom manufacturing
Adjustments and touch-ups if necessary
Corneal-scleral shell
The corneoscleral shell is a thin prosthesis designed to cover a blind eye that is present but impaired (a deformed eye, microphthalmia, phthisis bulbi, deviated eye, etc.).
The service includes:
Evaluation of the orbital cavity
Custom impression: The presence of medical devices, such as a scleral band, valves or drainage tubes, may prevent the impression from being taken.
Custom manufacturing
Adjustments and touch-ups if necessary

*We sometimes create a custom conformer for patients who retain their cornea. This allows us to verify that the patient can wear an ocular prosthesis before manufacturing the final, more expensive device.

Pediatric services
Prostheses adapted to the growth of children, with careful monitoring of the evolution of the orbit.
Custom-made prostheses for children
Regular monitoring during growth
Frequent adjustments to support orbital and facial development
Custom-made conformator
The custom conformer is used to support the shape of the orbit, promote proper healing, or prepare the cavity before the fabrication of a definitive prosthesis. It can also be useful for orbital expansion in cases of microphthalmia.
The service includes:
Cavity assessment
Design and manufacture of a custom slimming conformer
Adjustments for optimal comfort
Monitoring the evolution of the orbit
